Like in photography and movies, lighting in 3D plays a really important role. A beautifully modelled scene can be ruined by mediocre lighting and a mediocre model can be elevated by some carefully placed lighting. With that in mind I created the video below. Trying to decipher lighting and make it as easy to understand as possible! Enjoy!

Last month Maxon announced a new connection to Adobe’s creative suite. Cineware for Illustrator. Not only we can load 3D files inside illustrator but we can blend them with vectors and apply materials among other things. WWDC came and went and along with it finally came the news about a new computer addressing the pro market. Apple announced the new iMac Pro which is not exactly what everyone expected but it’s definitely a very capable machine. At least it looks like it! Ever since I received the V-log serial for my new camera I wanted to make a video, highlighting the delivery method. And what a delivery method this is! Just a quick explanation of what V-log is. V-log is a flat profile for recording video in order to easily adjust colors later on. Finally after a couple of weeks of procrastination, I’ve prepared the following video! It’s a bit tongue in cheek, poking fun at the ancient delivery method Panasonic chose! Enjoy!
I was quite lucky and got the GH5 on launch day so had a lot of time to geek out. This is my third micro four thirds camera (GF1, G7 and now GH5) and even though there are of course limitations because of the sensor I would say I’m really pleased with the purchase. At some point I want to move on to a full frame camera but at this time no full frame has this complete package the GH5 offers.
The price tag on the camera is definitely asking a lot from people especially when you can get a bigger sensor camera with that money but again the feature set overall cannot be beat.
